Dr. Steffane Battle has been a member of the Pediatrics faculty since August, 1996. She graduated from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in May, 1993; she then completed her internship at The Medical College of Virginia (1993 - 1994) and her pediatric residency at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (1994 - 1996). She is especially interested in providing patient education. She and her husband have three children -- two sons and a daughter

Patrice Knight, MD
Associate Professor of Pediatrics Division Director of Pediatrics
Dr. Patrice Knight has been on the Pediatrics faculty since 1983. A 1980 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine, she completed her pediatric internship and residency at The Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham from 1980 to 1983. A Neonatology Fellowship followed at University Hospital in Birmingham, from 1983 to 1985. She was Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1985 and in Perinatal-Neonatal Medicine in 1987. Dr. Knight was Medical Director of the North Alabama Perinatal Follow-Thru Program from January 1983 until October 2003, and is active in the State Perinatal Program. Her outside interests include gardening; she is a Master Gardener. She has three children and is an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Debra Williams, MD Clinical Professor of Pediatrics
Dr. Debra Williams has been with the Pediatrics faculty since 1983. She received her M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1979 and completed her pediatric internship and residency with the Pensacola Educational Program at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Florida from 1979-82. Her special interests in medicine are public health and child abuse; she is the Assistant Medical Officer for the Madison County Department of Public Health, in charge of medical programs. Debra has one son. Debra is an active member of Weatherly Heights Baptist Church.
Lea S. Eiland, PharmD
Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Lea S. Eiland, Pharm.D. is also an Associate Clinical Professor and Associate Department Head of Pharmacy Practice with the Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy. Lea graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2001. She completed a pediatric specialty residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Amarillo in 2002. Dr. Eiland joined the Auburn faculty in August of 2002 and the UAB faculty in September of that year. Her interests include infectious disease, vaccinations and neurology. On a personal note, Lea's husband is also a pharmacist who works at Huntsville Hospital. She loves University of Texas football, enjoys the outdoors and is a voracious reader of mysteries.
